Description: The much talked about field trip for July now has a definite date!

or call Melissa by Thursday, July 9th and let her know how many
in your family will be attending and how many, if any, will want to work on the
adobe project. (Adobe project is optional).

Saturday, July 11th, 9:00 am.

We\’ll be meeting at the Circle K in Huachuca City at 9:00 am.
Bring lots of water and a sack lunch! You might want a little sunscreen, too!

We\’re going to Rich Crest Farms which is located by the Dragoon Mts.
We\’ll have a tour of the farm and then be able to pick our own produce
and have a sack lunch.

Right now, the current harvest is:
Four types of summer squash
Elephant garlic
Five different varieties of onions
Three different varieties of green beans
Two varieties of okra
Swiss Chard
Japanese Eggplant
Black Eyed Peas
Sun Flowers
Zinnias
They will also have Sweet Corn
Tomatoes
Crowder Peas
and possibly Peppers

ALSO, any of the older kids (Jr. High or High School is what they told me) who are interested
can participate in the adobe project. Here is more info on the adobe project:

\”As part of our community oriented effort, we have also started an adobe building project.
This natural earth structure will service community garden workers, u-pick customers as well
as campers and visitors to our area. The building will consist of a rest room, shower room and
a utility room with a utility sink. We are very fortunate to have two very talented local folks that
are highly skilled in this type of construction heading up the project. This structure will be highly
functional as well as being a beautiful piece of artwork. We are currently seeking volunteers to
help with this project. If you would like to learn how to do this type of construction from two
expert craftspeople, this is a very good opportunity to do so. We need volunteer workers and
would gladly accept monetary donations to help offset expenses. We are currently working
on this project every Wednesday and Saturday starting at 8 am.\”

\”Things to bring: Plenty of water, large brimmed hat, sack lunch and rubber gloves for working
in the mud. Everyone has had a good time with this project and we would love to include you in it!\”

Again, Jr. High or older and parents can \”play in the mud\” on this project for as long as you like while
we are there.

Just to clarify…..the tour and u-pick part is for EVERYONE! The owner indicated to me that the
adobe project is for the older kids and parents who are interested. If you\’re not interested in
participating in the adobe project, that\’s fine, come and enjoy the rest of the trip! She just offered
for us to participate if we\’d like.
