Class Day

What is Class Day?

CHECC, LLC Class Day provides an assortment of enrichment classes to supplement our home schooling experience.  CHECC, LLC offers two semesters.  Each semester is nine weeks.  There is a Fall semester and Spring semester.  The Fall semester usually starts in September and the Spring semester usually starts at the end of January.  The end of each semester is celebrated with a Parent Night where students display and perform or demonstrate what they’ve worked on during the semester.  All CHECC, LLC members are invited to attend Parent Night.

Who Is Involved?

Class Day is a cooperative and volunteer effort.  Parental involvement is mandatory.  Parents volunteer to teach classes they would like to teach.  The types of classes offered depends upon what parents are willing to teach and will be determined after all commitments to Class Day are received.  Every parent does not have to teach, but if you are not teaching, your presence as an assistant is necessary.  This means no drop offs – parents must remain on premises.  Also, if students are on the premises, they must be in a class.  Your family must be CHECC, LLC members to participate.

What Classes Are Available?

Because parents decide which classes they would like to teach, the classes offered change every semester.  A few of the classes offered in the past have been Science, Geography, Cooking, Journalism, The Five Senses, Oceans, The Bill of Rights, Goal Setting, Presidential Fitness, a wide variety of Fine Arts & Crafts, U.S. Government, Drama, and Native Americans.  One class that is always offered is P.E.  As a matter of fact, each student is required to take 1 hour of P.E.  Classes are usually offered by grade level groups:  Nursery, PreK – K, 1st – 3rd grades, 4th – 6th grades, and 7th – 12th grades.

When is Class Day?

Monday is Class Day.  Each Monday morning, we start at 9:00 am with a short devotional and announcements, followed by three class periods of about 1 hour each.  Classes are offered for all ages including a nursery and preschool classes.

Where is Class Day?

Class Day is held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church on Coronado Dr.

Cost

Registration fee is $10 per student, payable with Registration Form.

Class material fees may also be required for certain classes and are payable with Class Selection Form.

How To Register For Class Day

Prior to each semester, an email will be sent to all CHECC, LLC members to register for Class Day for the semester.  Shortly thereafter, a list of the classes being offered will be available.   Simply fill out and return the Registration Form and Class Selection form with payment to the address listed on the forms.
