Keepers At Home
By · CommentsAs moms we want to train our daughters in how to be keepers at home. Whether our girls work outside of the home or are stay-at-home moms, they will need to know these skills. Our goal is to create a time for moms to spend with their daughters to focus on building a Godly mother-daughter relationship and to provide an environment where we can learn about/discuss homemaking skills, our roles, and spiritual matters.
Our Keepers At Home group is for CHECC members and meets together every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. All of our dates are listed on the CHECC Calendar.
Each Mom volunteers to teach a skill. It may be a well mastered skill or a new one that the mom would like to learn and teach our girls. Either way, we focus on enjoying our time together helping our girls learn something that will serve them well during their lives. The fun is in the learning and growing together! We have learned simple hand sewing, canning, freezing, how to identify and press wildflowers, how to bake, how to serve a proper tea, how to do laundry, and much more.
Our meeting place is determined by who is teaching the lesson. We usually meet at the house of the Mom & Daughter who are teaching the lesson. However, some families still have very young siblings at home and so it is easier for us to meet at another Keeper’s home.
If you are interested in joining us, please contact chairman@checc.info for current details on where we are meeting.
