Sports Service Projects

Each year the Sports Teams do fundraising to help offset the cost of participating.  During the 2009-2010 school year, CHECC began to do service projects to raise funds.  Below are highlights of these successful projects.  As you can see from this letter from the Salvation Army, the recipients of the projects are blessed.

"Dear Christian Home Educators and kids,

Thank you so very much for the hard work you put in to give us a new interior paint and back area path. It looks great and we are very grateful. It will be a tremendous benefit to our services and ministry.

Sincerely,

The Salvation Army Family"

The CHECC volleyball teams worked with the Huachuca Hospitality house and director’s Jose and Whitney Cordero in the fall of 2009 as a way to earn money for our sports program. The athletes were able to work a full day with the Cordero’s running lights, laying railroad ties for an area to be used for a Christmas program ,cleaning all the windows to include the inside of the house. We were treated to lunch and a devotion by Mr. Cordero and had a great time of fellowship as we worked.

          service projects

In February of 2010 our athletes from the CHECC basketball team were able to work with the Salvation Army as a way of service. Our teams were able to lay a brick walkway for the workers to use for moving food to storage, paint the picnic tables they use for overflow when serving the community, and paint the inside of the building. It was a great day of hard work and a job well done!
